Lifestyle sessions are all about capturing life as it is—real, honest, and beautifully unscripted. These sessions often take place in your home or a space that feels like you, and they focus on the little moments that make up your everyday story: the way your baby’s fingers curl around yours, the laughter echoing down the hallway, the quiet comfort of being together. We’ll focus on the small details and the big love—because those are the moments you’ll want to remember most.
1. It Starts with Your Story
Every family is different—and that’s what makes this so special. Before and during your session, I’ll take time to learn what makes your family you. Whether it’s the way your toddler always reaches for your hand or the way you all pile onto the couch for story time, I want to capture the heart of who you are. This session isn’t about stiff poses—it’s about your connection, your rhythm, and your story.
2. Your Home Doesn’t Need to Be Perfect
No need to deep clean or make things look like a magazine. A quick tidy—like clearing nightstands or tucking away clutter—is helpful, but your home doesn’t need to be spotless. I’ll help move things as needed to find the best light or simplify the background. What matters most is that it’s your space, filled with real moments, real memories, and the people you love.
3. Light Brings Your Story to Life
Light plays a huge role in how your photos look and feel. I’ll be looking for the best natural light in your home because it helps create soft, cozy, and inviting images that truly feel like you. We may move around from room to room depending on where the light is best—that beautiful morning sun in the nursery or the golden glow in the living room. Great light helps me capture the warmth, emotion, and everyday beauty of your story.
4. Choose Soft, Neutral Tones
When it comes to what to wear, soft and neutral colors work best. They complement the tones of your home and won’t compete with your surroundings—allowing the focus to stay on your connection, not the clothing. Think creams, beige, muted pastels, and simple textures. Be sure to review the Style Prep Guide I send before your session—it’s full of visual examples and outfit inspiration to make this part easy.
5. Let the Kids Be Themselves
There’s no need for perfect behavior—truly. Some of the most beautiful moments happen when kids are just being kids: twirling in their dress, cuddling close, running down the hallway, or climbing into your lap mid-session. The little quirks and big personalities are what make your family yours, and that’s exactly what I want to capture.
Instead of asking them to sit still or smile just right, we’ll let them lead a little. I may guide or prompt gently, but I’ll never force a moment. When kids are free to play, explore, and just be themselves, the magic happens naturally—and those real, joy-filled moments are the ones you’ll cherish the most.
6. It’s Okay to Pause
Need to nurse, grab a snack, or take a break? That’s completely normal—these sessions are flexible and built around your family’s pace.
7. I’ll Guide You Every Step of the Way
You don’t have to know what to do—I’ve got you. I’ll gently guide you into natural, flattering light and interactions that feel easy and real, so you can relax and focus on what matters most. Together, we’ll create beautiful, heartfelt images you’ll be proud to hang on your walls.
